MalĆ” Strana

MalĆ” Strana is one of the favorite and most charming Prague area! It’s calm and quiet, more than Old Town but still part of the area of Prague 1. From here you can have a little and wonderful walk inĀ the historic district ofĀ MalĆ” Strana.

From MalĆ” Strana you will have also the view of Vltava river and easy access to the Prague Castle (after a little stairs climbing). In the sunny days you can relax in Kampa island just next to the river and walk in the street of ambassies where it is located also the famous Lennon’s wall.

This area offers a pretty good access to public transports to go everywhere around Prague. The tram stop MalostranskĆ© nĆ”městĆ­Ā and metro stopĀ MalostranskĆ” will facilitate it.

NovĆ© Město

Just a few minutes from Old Town (StarĆ© Město)Ā and Lesser Town (MalĆ” Strana)Ā by foot or public transportation, New TownĀ (NovĆ© Město)Ā is in the center ofĀ Prague and has excellent metro (A,B,C) and tram connections.

The areaĀ is full of restaurants and bars with friendly prices, and is one of the best part of Prague for entertainment and nightlife! You can also go for a shopping trip toĀ five-storyĀ Palladium shopping center, one of the largest mall of PragueĀ that holdsĀ 180 shops and more than 20 restaurants and cafes.

Wenceslas Square (VĆ”clavskĆ© nĆ”městĆ­), one of the main city squares,Ā lies at the heart of the district. You can find at the top of the boulebard the National Museum and Prague State Opera.

Do not forget to takeĀ a look at the Dancing House (TančƭcĆ­ dÅÆm), a unique designed buildingĀ located by the Vltava river.Ā 

SmĆ­chov

Just around the corner from your new home at SmĆ­chov, you will find one of the largest shopping center of Prague in Anděl. Away from the hustle and bustle of touristsĀ and yet just aĀ fewĀ minutes away from theĀ city center,Ā SmĆ­chov district is much appreciated by expatriatesĀ and a nice and convenient place to live in. You will also find a great variety of restaurants (Wine Food Market), barsĀ and coffee places.

Next to Vltava river and within short walking distance from Charle’s bridge, the charming district ofĀ SmĆ­chov has a lot to offer.Ā Enjoy a nice walkĀ in Petřín’s park, and go up the Petřín Lookout TowerĀ for fine views over Prague.

Vinohrady

Of all Prague’s districts, Vinohrady is perhaps one of the favorite district among expats and young professionnals. Indeed, it is very appreciated for its nearness to the city center and its easy access to public transports. Commuting by tram or metro from NĆ”městĆ­ MĆ­ru stationĀ to the center should not takeĀ more than 15 minutes, even at peak hours.

Close toĀ the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord (Kostel NejsvětějŔího Srdce PĆ”ně in Czech), one of the most famous buildings in Vinohrady, you can also relax during summer atĀ Riegrovy sady where you will enjoy some good beer at the beer garden!

Vinohrady is good for traditional, locally-owned shops, and offers a nice selection of restaurants, bars and coffee places.

Žižkov

The district of Žižkov, located for the most part in Prague 3, has its own specific identity and independent vibe. The area is well-known for its typical pubs and restaurants where you can enjoy some of the finest beers! 

For a nice view of Prague, take the lift to the top of Žižkov TV Tower, a striking symbol of the communist-era. You can continue on your way with a little bit of history and have a walk in OlŔany Cemetery, the largest graveyard in Prague where lies Jan Palach, the Czech student who, in the wake of the brutal crushing of the Prague Spring, committed suicide in 1969 as a protest against the communist regime.

Transport links include a number of regular bus and trams stops which will bring you in a few minutes to the heart of Prague 1 during the day and night.
